Guided tour of the Mining Museum
The guided tour of the Mining Museum is a trip through more a thousand years in the history of the mine.
The collection of models, the cabinets of coins and minerals, the exhibits of tools and documents are the starting point for the story of this major contribution to the development of technology and industry. The building itself is an important part of that history.
The building is a reconstruction of the Mine Office that was erected in the late eighteenth century. The mine court was held here and the miner owners assembled to discuss matters concerning Kopparberget and to decide about wages, punishments, where to mine, and much more.
The guided tour lasts about one hour.
