Falun Mine has been visited by virtually all of Sweden´s kings and queens from Magnus Eriksson in 1347 to Carl XVI Gustaf in 2002.

 

The most recent royal visitor was Crown Princess Victoria, who inaugurated the Word Heritage Centre in May 2005.

Several of Sweden´s monarchs have been very involves in the operation of the Falun Mine and the crown for many years had their own copper smelting houses.

Meet some of the royal visitors at the Great Copper Mountain until Karl XIV Johan. Nine signs with short historical stories are displayed in the Mining Museum.
