Welcome to Falun Mine! 
In the visitor’s mine our guests are shown round galleries, pits and sunk shafts from bygone times. Dizzying depths and huge underground chambers meet the visitor. Tools, ladders and stepways from olden days are eloquent testimony to the hard work.
Around the gaping Great Pit there are beautiful buildings, wheel houses, shaft heads and pivots.
The Mining Museum fills out the history with fantastic models and other exhibits.
Recommended time to spend at the Falun Mine area; 3-4 hours in the summer season and 1,5 hour in the winter season. Start of your visit in the Visitors Center; World Heritage House, book a guided tour in the mine (1h), explore the Mining Museum , take a mine walk around the Great Pit (1,5 km), stop for lunch or café and shopping. Opening hours varies during season, the area is open daily all year around.
